Knife Gallery 1

Knife Nr. 146

I made this knife during the spring and early summer of 2001. Buyer was Mr. Ira Solomon, a collector in USA.

This knife handle is made from reindeer antler and curly grained sallow root. The thinn slices between the reindeer antler is birch bark. I use 70 % boiled linseed oil and 30 % turpentine as handle treatment.

Knife sheath is made from reindeer antler and my own tanned moose leather. The engraving on the sheath is made by hand with a knife. The "tracks" is filled with grounded bark of alder.

This Damascus blade is made by the blade-smith Ivan Lindeborg, Skellefteå. Brass and steel welded together on the back on the blade. Ivan has won a lot of prices for this type of blade. He also have a speciall steel for the edge so this blade is made for using.
