News:
28 November, 2008:
All Panzer Campaign titles
updated: Due to user feedback a couple of changes have been
made - Edited the marking for Travel Mode on the unit
counters for easier recognition and narrowed down the Streams to
further differentiate them from Rivers.
( See samples below. )

8 November, 2008:
All Panzer Campaign titles
updated: Reworked the symbols for Minefields, Improved
Positions, Trenches, Bunkers, Pillboxes and Obstacles.
I have increased the size of these symbols and their color markings
slightly
for easier identification on the maps.

28 October, 2008: All Panzer Campaign titles updated:
Increased the elevation differences slightly, which should
make it a bit easier for the player to read the terrain.

stuff in the Map Legend. )
14 October, 2008: All Panzer Campaign titles updated:
Couldn't resist fine tuning some little bits and pieces
before I take a break - sorry guys! :-)
I have raised the
bridges slightly and made it easier to distinguish between
bridge types. Ferries and Industrial areas has also been
adjusted for easier recognition.
10 October, 2008: All Panzer Campaign titles updated: Reworked art for orchards,
which are now easier to differentiate from forest hexes. Also, fords across
rivers looked odd under frozen conditions, so these has been
reworked as well.

Also added additional unit

28 July, 2008: All Panzer
Campaign titles updated: So
many small changes, adjustments and fixes, it almost feels
like a new MapMod version.
Check out the upgraded
Map Legend for a complete
overview.
New site:
As you can see, the
site has also been rebuilt from scratch. ( Only tested in
Internet Explorer 7 though. ) It's a bit heavier
now on those with a slower connection, but the old site
was a rushed affair just to have somewhere to publish MapMod
when the maiden version was first finished. This time I wanted to create
something that better showcased the mod to a newcomer, or to
those old grognards out there still afraid of trying, and I
hope the new reworked Map Legend can be a step in that direction.
Important - Please Read: I have decided to drop MapMod for Modern
Campaigns, at least for a period of time.
Why? Well, for me personally, hypothetical conflicts
completely lack that atmosphere and sense of importance I love
so much in a detailed historical wargame. MapMod has
become a little hobby of mine, and as such it should be a
fun and rewarding thing to work with. I have tried, and much
so due
to popular demand, but simply can't find enough enthusiasm
in me to keep spending time and money on a mod for Modern Campaigns.
My heart just isn't in it. Please accept my apologies for this, but also understand
that my decision is final and not open for debate. If this
series one day start to focus a little more on real conflicts
and a little less on what-if's, I may reconsider.
( I'm keeping the files online for a while, so everybody
that wants to can download them for safe keeping, but as
soon as I need the server space for more important things
they will be removed permanently. So get them while you
still can - here.
)
22 May, 2008: Smolensk
and Stalingrad updated: Added Unit Boxes, Insignia and
Counters for NKVD and Soviet Naval Infantry used in Volcano

you have a slow connection! )
What and Why?
Panzer Campaigns is a series of wargames, published by
HPS Simulations, that covers various World War II
battles in great detail.
MapMod is a mod which changes all the graphical elements
for the 2D Normal View in Panzer Campaigns. You can find
a detailed description of MapMod and its features on the
Map Legend pages, or you can take a look at some
Screenshots of the mod in action.
Why a MapMod? Well, my reasons were many, but most of
all MapMod was made out of love for these games. The
historical research behind them are just phenomenal, and
the attention to detail is second to none. For me it is
like having catched a little piece of history to own one
of these titles, and I can highly recommend every single
one of them.
( TIP: I know for a fact that games from HPS Simulations
can be pretty much impossible to find in any local
stores. But I can recommend a great little online store:
NWS. These guys are passionate wargamers themselfs,
their service is excellent and their pricing is the best
I have seen anywhere. )
So... I hope you like MapMod - because it really is a
labor of love... :-)

How to easily avoid problems:
1. MapMod is 100% compatible with Volcano Man's unit art
and alternative scenarios, as long as you install
Volcano's mod first and MapMod second.
2. Whenever you install an
update from HPS Simulations, or from Volcano Man, it is good practice to
always follow with a reinstallment of
MapMod.
