Gustaf Fröding (1860-1911), by many considered "the national poet of Sweden", is still very popular. New editions of his poetry have appeared in Sweden during recent years.
THE SELECTED POEMS OF GUSTAF FRÖDING contains some 40 of his best known poems translated into English. 20 illustrations by Swedish artists, most of them contemporary with the poet, and a biographical essay on Fröding's life and work.
"I admire the translations of Fröding for their idiomatic and poetic fluency."
— G. Singh, professor, Belfast
"The book impresses me as an admirable success in translation, and is a beautifully assembled volume."
— W. Phillips Davison, Princeton University, N.J. USA
