This site is designed as a resource for genealogists researching their German ancestors within the present political border of the Federal Republic of Germany. But don't go away just yet--there is help for you if your Germans came from other areas no longer a part of Germany, or you do not know where they came from.
This service is intended to give you placenames, locations, postal codes and other informations on towns and villages in Germany today. I use a database of currently about 50000 entries, based on the 'Postleitzahlenbuch' (post code book) of the German mail service.

These documents contain information about genealogical research in the province of Skåne in the very south of Sweden. For some general facts of this province and tourist information, check out the Skånes Turistråd Web site.
A couple of projects have resulted in a database
of the population of NW Skåne and a surname
index to the periodical Släkt och Hävd.
A short history of the province as well as the division into counties and parishes is sketched. Addresses
to archives, societies
(also local) and internet
resources are provided. Some local periodicals
are also listed.
You may also have your research inquiries published free of charge on a webpage, easily accessed by anyone surfing by. Enjoy!

GenMatch links online databases defined in web pages that genealogists have created by using GEDCOM to HTML conversion programs. These programs convert your genealogy data to hypertext linked (HTML) files that are used to display the individuals in your genealogy data. GenMatch attempts to link each individual defined on a given genealogy web page to all other individuals defined on other genealogist's web pages.
The RootsWeb project has two missions:
RootsWeb's own genealogy runs back more than a decade to the days of net.roots. RootsWeb folks have been involved since the early days of ROOTS-L and the RootsWeb Surname List, and more recently were among the founders of the RAND Genealogy Club. We created the RootsWeb site to continue to support the genealogical community as the needs of the community outstripped the ability of RAND and other organizations to host the genealogical community on a guest basis.
