Swedish International Results

On Sunday, July 12, 1908, the Swedish national football team played its first match ever, at "Balders hage" (Balder's pasture) in Gothenburg. The opponent was Norway, and Sweden won the match with 11 goals against 3.

Since then and up to 2007 the Swedish international team has played 892 matches, and met 85 countries at 177 places around the world. More details could be found below - just click, to go to the particular results.(Swedish goals always first regardless of venue).

Notes:
1. Solna / Stockholm. Almost the same. 1937 the international matches in Stockholm, moved to the new football stadium, "Råsunda stadion", situated in Solna, just outside the city. (Also the residence of the Swedish Football Association.)
2. Kristiania / Oslo This is the same place. Before 1925 Oslo was called Kristiania.
3. Sweden's greatest loss ever, 1 - 12, happened during the Olympic Games 1908, and therefore maybe the opponent should be called Great Britain, but the match has here been assigned to England.

The main source for this compilation was "Fotbollboken 2000" (Football book 2000) issued by Swedish Football Association.
The datas from the book have been verified against, and supplemented from, a number of independent sources on internet.
