A foggy morning in Kastelholm, a sheltered guest harbor deep in an inlet close to Mariehamn, the main city of Aland.
After we had given up fighting easterly gales head on, dense fogs dominated the weather instead. We waited for three days in Mariehamn, while the Baltic was covered in dense fog. On the fourth day, the weather forecast only patches of fog - which lasted all the way across to Sweden. |
| Safely home in spite of the fog, we caught the magnificent ships of the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race as they were parading out of Stockholm. |
