INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING UP PGA 2000 ON KALI WITH A ROUTER OR A FIREWALL ( by Chas ) Many people today are using a Router between their computer and their DSL modem or cable connection, usually to share the Internet connection because they have more than one computer or because they want a wireless network (WLAN). Please Be Aware that certain Routers have serious NAT issues related to gaming.... If you are constantly reconnecting, Port changes, getting duplicate nick and registration issues, your Router is the issue and this will drive you insane. What I know for sure at this point is that some Netgear Routers does not work with Kali because they do not handle UDP packages correctly when Routing. If you are thinking about buying a router I would recommend buying a Linksys Router, the one I am using is a Linksys WRT54GL and I have had no problems with Kali and overall it's a very gaming friendly Router, all I did was to forward port# 2213 to my PC and set it to UDP. Note that I also created a static ip address between my PC and the Router. Wireless can make you nutz also, for any type of online gaming, If using a wireless network make sure you have a really strong connection. Follow these steps to set up your Router with Kali: 1. Configure your Router by using the guide you will find by clicking here (in the guide just click on your Router brand and model and follow the steps) 2. Start Kali and click on "File" (at top left) and then choose "settings" and click on the tab namned "NAT/Proxy" 3. Make sure "Enable special NAT/Proxy handling" is checked like in the image below ![]() and then click "OK" to save the settings 4. Restart Kali and try entering the Sports room (or any room) to see if you get any error messages about port number changes, if no such errors shows it will most likely work and no other settings will be needed. If you are still getting port error messages after going thru the above guide it means your Router will not work on Kali but just to be sure you should try to connect your PC to the internet directly without the router (if possible) and if it works you will know for sure that the Router is the issue... |
