Masquerade-dress

In June 2002, Stockholm celeberated it´s 750 anniversary with a week long festival. Gustafs Skål hosted a costume ball at one of Stockholm´s museum, built to look like a Renaissance palace. 380 guests attended in clothes from various time-periods, though the 18th-century was dominant.

I had fallen in love with this picture, and wanted to remake it.

I used the polonaise pattern for the bodice, though I closed the front, and laced it up in the back instead. Again I had to make do with polyester satin.

Despite the fabric and the VERY limited time frame, I am quite pleased. I have yet to make the bow and shoulder pieces and I have to change the back a little. And I am not quite sure why I bought red lining, when it is obvious that it should be pink. But still.
