Chemise-dress

No money, no time, what to make? My heart belongs to the Rococo-era, but when I started this project I still had no hoops. So I choosed to make a chemise-dress from the 1780s instead. White cotton is cheap and the pattern I adapted from Norah Waugh´s The Cut of Women´s Clothes 1600-1930. Well, I enlarged the armscye a little and closed the front, and I must say that it is one of the quickest, easiest thing I have ever done. In retrospect I think I could have used an even lighter fabric, but as it was so inexpensive and quickly made up, I figure I can make a new one. A very nice dress to wear on hot summer days.

Herer it is. It is pinned up in the front, because I am just about to dance.
