I have two cats, who both help me with my sewing. Here is Mips. She is oldest and head cat in the family. You can´t see that she
has Siamese in her, but you sure can hear it. If I lock her out of the
sewing-room she yells until I let her in. Well inside, there is a number
of helpful thing a cat can do. Here is a short list: - Chase any threatening spools of thread in under furniture so it is almost impossble to retrieve it. - Sit on fabric that your human is about to cut out pattern pieces from. - Fall asleep on any piece of fabric that has lots of pins in, or is needed next. - Climb up to the top shelves and return all dusty, thereby showing your human that she REALLY needs to dust. - Insist on cuddling everytime your human needs to concentrate on her work.

Zelda is a very lady-like cat and is not interested in sewing-rooms. If I sit on the sofa with my embroidery she is much more alert, . Buffing the hand that holds the needle, for example. Or chew on the thread. Or play hide-and-seek under the fabric. As you can see my cats are a lot of help to me. :-) |
