Nyheter/News 2008-2007-2006
2008-09-21: No puppies - I decided to resist the temptation to mate Vasilissa this time also. I expect her to come into season in December again, and that will be the last chance to mate her, in order to have puppies before turning 7, which is the age limit for a bitch who has not had puppies before, according to the Kennel Club rules...We'll see!

In the meantime she has participated in a lure coursing trial, and she has now also a racing licence! See pics on www.kashmani.se, photo gallery 2.
Kirman Velika has obtained her lure coursing licence. See pics on www.kashmani.se, photo gallery 2.
I have judged a number of dogs of different breeds in Sweden, Belgium and Finland, and have been approved to judge some more breeds, most recently azawakh. Some pics and results can be viewn on www.kashmani.se, "Domaruppdrag". Next assignment is at the Sighthound Club Show in Boden, October 4.
2008-05-10: SLCCH Kashmanis Vasilissa came into season today....I will soon have to decide if I will let her have her first litter now, or, if not now, perhaps never. She will be 6 years old in a month (June 10). If you are seriously interested in a puppy from her, please let me know this as soon as possible, so I can plan ahead.

2008-05-04: Kashmanis Vanessa won her second lure-coursing certificate at a trial in the south of Sweden! Congratulations to her owners!
2008-03-09: I judged Whippets, Italian Greyhounds, Sloughis and Afghan Hounds at the Swedish Sighthound Club Championship show in Timrå. See pics at kashmani.dinstudio.se!
2008-01-29: I received a letter today from the Swedish Kennel Club confirming my authorisation to judge Podenco ibicenco and Podengo portuguès at championship level. I have also received some new invitations to judge at shows in Sweden. I will present my coming assignments more in detail later.
2008-01-10: I made my aspiring judge services on Podenco ibicenco and Podengo portuguès in Gothenburg January 3rd, in connection with judging 46 Whippets at the Sighthound Club Show at My Dog. I enjoyed judging Whippets and had quite a lot of nice specimens to choose between. Next judging commitment will be in the middle-north of Sweden (Timrå) in March.

2007-12-25: Christmas time is here and a new year waits around the corner. It has been a busy autumn, at work and at home. There have also been a couple of judges´ seminars (Sighthound Club and Kennel Club) to fill in the gaps during the week-ends.
For those of you who prefer to read Swedish, I have opened a new homepage, only in Swedish, at http://kashmani.dinstudio.se. It is still under construction but I will work on it now and then to present some highlights in my "doggie world".
There will sadly be no Sheltie puppies at Kashmani this spring either. I have to accept that I don't have the time to have the puppies myself, and I have found nobody to help in with the litter either. I had really hoped to have Sheltie puppies ex Starbelle Stephanie. She is healthy and sound and has had two litters before. When she came into season in December I had her eyes tested and a health check at the vet, which is compulsory in order to be allowed to register puppies from a bitch over 7 years with the Swedish KC. Instead, I hope to show her a little next year before she sheds her coat again...
There will be no Saluki puppies this Spring either. Kashmanis Vasilissa came into season already in October, instead of in December as expected. She will be 6 years in June, so there is still some hope that "next time"..We'll see.
I have made some student judging and am now an aspiring judge also for Podengo portugués. I had the pleasure to make my service at the Stockholm International Show on December 16, where no less than 22 podengos of two of the three sizes and both coat types were entered under Annette Bystrup, Denmark.
I will start my judging in 2008 at the Sighthound Club Championship show in Gothenburg, January 3, by judging Whippets.
2007-09-30: Recent news:
- Saluki lady Kashmanis Vanessa won her first lure-coursing CC in the South of Sweden yesterday. Congratulations and well done by her owners!
- My Sheltie boy SUCH Kashmanis Yippee is "on trial" in a new home in Sweden. I wish him and his new family lots of happiness. (I still have the showing and breeding rights.)
2007-09-02: Summer is over, with a few more things to report upon.
- I went to Vasa in Finland to judge Afghan Hounds, Borzoi and Whippets on July 7, and made another trip to Finland to judge, in Helsinki this time, Italian Greyhounds and Greyhounds, on July 21. Most of the summer was spent in our summer house.
- I went to the Swedish Shetland Sheepdog Club's Jubilee Championship show in Eskilstuna, August 25, and made one of my rare appearances in the ring showing some of my dogs: my bitch Starbelle Stephanie (pictured below at the show, photo by Jenny Starborg) was nr 4 in the open competitions class with ck (24 entries) for breed specialist Mrs Ulla Bergh Persson, and my dog Ch Kashmanis Yippee (son of Stephanie) was nr 5 with ck in the champion class for breed specialist Mrs Carin Åkesson.

- My service as an aspiring judge of Sloughis at the Stockholm Kennel Club's Memorial Show in Stäket, August 26, was approved by the SKC and I am now authorized to judge also this breed on an international level.
2007-06-28: Several months have gone since I updated the News page and there are a few things to tell.
- My home-bred Swedish Champion Sheltie, Kashmanis Yippee, is moving in again for a while, until we have found him a new good home. (We do not like to mix dogs and bitches at home. )I hope to be able to show him more in the future, and perhaps he will be allowed to sire some litters from suitable bitches as well.
- I went to the Working Club´s Championship Show in Smålandsstenar, on May 1, to serve as a student judge of Collies, smooth and rough, under Eva Eriksson, kennel Crony, and am looking for an opportunity to serve as an aspiring judge.
- I have not shown Salukis for 2 years, but made an exception when showing my Swedish Lure Coursing Champion Kashmanis Vasilissa at the Swedish Saluki Club Jubilee Championship Show in Österbybruk, May 12, under breed specialist Lena Stålhandske, kennel Schiram. Vasilissa did quite well and won the working class (5 entries) with CK and ended up as 3rd Best Bitch of 41 entries, and BIS Working Dog over the male.
- My service as an aspiring judge for Galgo Espanol at the SKC Show in Hässleholm, May 18, was approved by the Swedish Kennel Club and I can now judge this breed on an internationel level too. I also studied Basenjis in the ring and hope to go on studying that breed in the future.
- I went to the FKC Jämsänkoski show in Finland on June 10 to judge Shelties, Afghan hounds, Borzois, Deerhounds and Pharaoh Hounds.
- I went to show Salukis at the Western Sighthound Club and breed clubs double show in Tånga hed, June 16-17. At the Championship show the first day, Vasilissa again won the Working class with CK
and was BOS Working Saluki under breed specialist Ute Lennartz, kennel Mata Salamata's, Germany.
Photo Ingunn Solberg Eriksson, Vasilissa on the right.
The day after, at the Saluki Club Open Show, Vasilissa again won the Working class with CK and was this time BIS Working Saluki, under breeder judge Mrs Anette Ajanki, kennel Al-Shén.
- I did not mate neither Vasilissa nor the Sheltie, Starbelle Stephanie, when they came into season late in May. The timing was not right for me. I hope to fulfill my plans next time they come into season!
- We have almost finished our new leisure time house by the sea in the Stockholm-Norrtälje archipelague and look forward to spending a lot of time there, with the dogs and our children.
2007-03-06: My student judge appointments at the Swedish Sighthound Club´s Show in Köping February 25 were approved by the Swedish Kennel Club and I am now an aspiring judge for the breeds Azawakh, Chart polski, Galgo Espanol, Sloughi and Podenco Ibicenco.
2007-01-07: Kashmanis Yippee gained his crown at the Swedish Kennel Club International Championship show in Gothenburg under judge Harry Tast, Finland. He won the CAC and was 2nd Best Male! He is the first champion sheltie I have bred and I am very happy and proud! My sincere thanks go to the judges that have liked him, and to Madeleine Lund for handling him to his title so quickly!
2007-01-06: Kashmanis Yippee was 2nd in the open class with ck and 3rd Best Male at the Swedish Kennel Club Championship show in Gothenburg for breeder judge Mr Helge Lie, Norway.
2006-12-10: Kashmanis Yippee, again skilfully handled by Madeleine Lund, won the dog CAC and 4th Best Male at the Stockholm International Kennel Club Show with 77 entries (34 males), under Swedish breed specialist Mrs Ulla Eriksson, kennel Crony!

2006-11-04: My Sheltie boy Kashmanis Yippee (above) was Best Male with CAC and CACIB, and then went on to win BOB (of some 70 Shelties) at the SKC International Show in Växjö! Many thanks to Madeleine Lund, kennel Starbelle, for showing him so well! (Madeleine also owns his father and bred his mother.)
2006-11-03: SLCCH Kashmanis Vasilissa is no 10 Top Lure-Coursing Saluki in Sweden 2006 from two competitions only!
2006-11-03: I received a letter from the Swedish Kennel Club confirming my authorisation to judge Greyhounds and Italian Greyhounds at Championship shows.
2006-10-21: I served as an aspiring judge for Greyhounds and Italian Greyhounds at the Sighthound Club Championship show in Hågelby, Stockholm, under Mrs Ingela Kyrklund. I
2006-10-14: I attended the Breed Conferences for Show Judges of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Shetland Sheepdogs. They were well organised and very interesting. Some 40 judges attended.
2006-10-08: At the Bråvikens Lure-Coursing Club Lure-coursing trial in Bråviken two of our non-licenced Salukis competed - and won their classes! 2 years old Kirman Velika won the Class for non-licenced Salukis (actually her first time out on a trial), and SUCH Min Arabi Medina al Kashmani (9 years in January) won the Saluki Veteran competition!
2006-10-06: I was very pleased to receive a letter from the Working Dog's Club that they and the Collie Club approved my application to study to become a show judge for Collies, Rough and Smooth.
2006-09-09: I studied mental testing of rough and smooth collies at the Mälarö Working Dog's Club at Ekerö, Stockholm. Very interesting! In due course I hope to judge also this lovely breed at Championship show level.
2006-09-03: My Swedish Lure Coursing Champion Kashmanis Vasilissa did it again! She was BOB of 16 Salukis and Best In Field-2 of some 90 Sighthounds at the LC trial in Söderköping. Judges were Mr Djordje Tesic, Hungaria, and Mr Markku Mähönen, Finland. I also accomplished the practical test for becoming a Lure Coursing secretary.
2006-08-26: Together with Mrs Eva Wejdmark of the Wenarja kennel, a long time friend and the breeder of my first two Salukis born in 1971 and 1973, now a breeder of the Dutch breed kooikerhondje, I attended the Swedish Kooikerhondje Championship show at Härjarö. Some 40 kooikerhondje were judged by Mr Hans Almgren and it was interesting to listen to the open critiques he gave his exhibits.
2006-08-25: I'm now also licenced to judge Pharaoh Hounds. I served as an aspiring judge under Mrs Tina Permo at the Norrköping International Kennel Club Show, August 19.
2006-08-01: The last week-end in July, the Swedish Sighthound Club's Eastern Section's and the Breed club's world famous Summer show was arranged in Mariefred. I only showed my youngest Saluki, Kirman Velika, who was placed in the youth class both days. Her sister Vidya and her brother Vasuman were also placed both days. Judges were Mrs Zola Rawson of the Mumtaz Salukis in England and Mrs Lesley Brabyn of the American Timaru Salukis. We had a lovely time enjoying all the beautiful Salukis shown, coming from - I was told - some 40 breeders from all over the world.
Kirman Velika
I also studied an entry of some 40 Italian Greyhounds in the ring as a passive student for Mr Frans Gerritsen from the Netherlands. Interesting! All the adults have to be measured nowadays.
After the two show days the International Lure Coursing trials took place in Stjärnhov. My Swedish Lure Coursing Champion Kashmanis Vasilissa was third with reserve-CACIL from an entry of 34 Salukis. (The Salukis placed 2, 3 and 4 had the same number of points!). This was her fourth competition ever! Judges were Hubert Iser from Belgium and Steinar Mathissen from Norway.
2006-07-19: I have added new breeds to my judging licence and exciting invitations have been received. I now judge Shetland Sheepdogs, Afghan Hounds, Borzoi, Irish Wolfhounds, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds and Whippets on Championship level and am an aspiring judge on Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds and Pharaoh Hounds. More breeds to come in Group 1, 9 and 10.
2006-05-19: Our Sheltie male Kashmanis Yippee was BOB=BIS at the Swedish Shetland Sheepdog Club's Uppsala district´s Open Specialty on May 14, 2006. The judge was breed specialist Mr Stuart Smith, Orean Shelties, UK. Thanks to Britt Löfgren, kennel Shelfield, for showing him so well! She has also taken the photo below.
Yippee is a charming golden sable & white dog who has previously, shown by me, won big junior and youth classes with ck for breed specialists. He is 2 years old, by GBCH SUCH Lythwood Silence Is Golden ex Starbelle Stephanie.
