We who have run "Ammarnäsfjällens Islandshästar" since
1998 are called Helena Wikström Ifrig and Gunnar Wikström. We live in a small mountain village called Ammarnäs in the middle of one of the largest
nature
reserves in Europe; Vindelfjällen. Ammarnäs is located in the nothern part
of Sweden; in Lapland.
Our main activity is riding tours in mountain country on Icelandic Horses within Vindelfjällens
nature reserve,
riding lessons and riding camps.
The company has also expanded with a woodheated "bathing tub" and a woodheated
sauna that in combination with our fantastic mountain view makes anyone feel
good.
Our riding-fishing arrangements are based on the fact that with assistance from the
icelandic horses easily get up to the mountains and fly-fish in exclusive waters
for salmon trout and char. An arrangemnet in co-operation with "Ammarnäs
Fiskecentrum".
Our guide/guides are English speaking.
In May 2003 we were approved as Swedish ecotourism operators
by Nature´s Best, a quality label for Swedish ecotourism.

A young and forward-thinking company with a wide range of ridning tours. Actively
protects Ammarnäs famous "potato-hill" and
the culturally importent "Hedebo Gård". Together with "Ammarnäs
Fiksecentrum", which is also a certificated arranger within "Nature´s
Best", exclusive fishing tours on horseback are now arranged. A riding-and
fishing experience out of the ordinary for both men and vomen or the whole family.
