Pegasus Stephans quintet. Hickson 92. One of the
most famous multiple systems. It can easily be seen with a 17,5"
telescope. Spiral arms and bridging needs photograhy to be clearly seen. The
lower left galaxy has only 1/8 of the redshift of the others, and is believed
to be much closer to us than the other four galaxies. Redshift (group) is 0.0215 (6446km/s) Photo: 99-09-14, 12" f/10, 480 sec |
