Andromeda Wow!. A
very nice and beautiful example of two interacting spirals with tidal
effects. The upper one is UGC01810. It shows signs of a ring-like structure
and weak ruptured knots on the original Arp photo below. The lower galaxy is
UGC01813. The bright star is at magnitude 8.1. 01810: Mag 13.4 T(de V.): SA(s)b pec Type (Hubble): S(b) 01813: Mag 15.0 T(de V.): SB(s)a pec Type (Hubble): SB Redshift is (0.025227) (7563km/s) Photo: 2001-10-19, 12" f/10, 640 sec |
