THE AUCTION CATALOGUE

FALKLAND ISLANDS & DEPENDENCIES
+ ANTARCTICA ETC
POSTAL AUCTION No.14 - 9th NOVEMBER 2007

VIEWING: Requested lots only, in connection with PHILATEX in London on 1/11 only (see below)

PREFACE: Welcome to the 14th Falkland Islands & Dependencies + Antarctica Auction. There are 762 lots from no less than 16 different vendors, including many interesting and unrecorded items from the collections of the late Madge Biggs and Father Monaghan. There is a good selection of stamps and postal history from the QV, KEVII and KGV periods, but the KGVI period is outstanding, both in stamps and postal history. The QEII period offers many good varieties, Postal Stationery is well represented with several scarce items, Censor Mail and Air Mail is very strong, and the 1982 Islas Malvinas period is exceptional with many great and previously unknown rarities. Good sections of postal markings and Maritime Mail is followed by a very comprehensive offering of Departmental Cachets including rare and unrecorded items! The Dependencies stamp section contains some scarce items, South Georgia has some good covers including many whaling items, and the other Dependencies also offer some interesting covers. The Expeditions etc section contains an unusually interesting mix and the St Helena, Miscellaneous and Literature sections round off the sale.
As usual there is a lot of material in this sale and I hope that everybody who receives the catalogue will be able to find something of interest. Please note that all catalogue numbers and values quoted are from the Specialised Stamp Catalogue of the Falkland Islands and Dependencies, fifth edition, unless otherwise stated. If you require further information about any lots, or photocopies, please let me know as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing you during the viewing and to receive your bids.
