Facts
The 2nd generation Nissan 300ZX was realesed in 1990, and was the last Z-car produced by Dastsun/Nissan. When the 300ZX was realsed in the US it became an enormous succes. In 1990 over 1 million Z-cars had been sold, making it the far most sold sport car ever. The succes in sweden was far less, but almost 100 units was sold in 1990, which also would be the best selling year. As in the US the 300 was sold untill the end of 1996, but the last car was sold in 1995, making it the 143rd 300ZX sold in Sweden. There's no replacement for the 300ZX today but Nissan has a model called "Skyline", but its only imported to countries where you drive on the left side (Japan, UK, etc.). The Skyline is an excellent piece of machinery, build to win the Japan national league for stock cars. It has a inline six delivering 280 brutal horsepowers but can easily be upgraded to 360 hp by shifting a chip. It has twinturbos, 4-wheelsteering and 4-wheelsdrive, and makes 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in five seconds flat. See pics >>> Only one version of the 300ZX was sold in sweden. It had a 3.0 liters V6 with twinturbo delivering 285 hp and was called 300ZX TT 2+2 (2+2 Seater) and it had T-bar roof. Other versions was sold in the US and Japan:
The 2+2 normal aspirated version with 222 hp with or without T-bar roof.
A convertible with 222 hp.
And the Twinturbo model, a 2 seater with twinturbo delivering 300 great horsepowers.
The 300ZX is a popular sport car and it shows in the used car prices. You can get your self a 300ZX for 140 000 skr ($17,500) today, but I would rather look for something around 170 000-200 000 skr ($21,000-25,000).
Even the price in US is heigh, a normal car cost half as much in the US as in Sweden, but "The Kelly Blue Book" rates a 1990 300ZX TT to 120 000 skr ($15,100) almost as much as in Sweden.
Roamers has been heard that Nissan is working on a new Z-model, I'll just hope it's as good as the 300ZX...
