Easy background:

This will probably be among the shortest tutorials ever, but still very effective.
Open a new document, use what ever size you want your background to have.
Choose two colors you would like to use, I used a light pink and white.
I personally thinks light colors tend to look much better when doing this.
Make a new layer and go:
Filter > Render > Clouds
Filter > Render > Difference Clouds
Press Ctrl + F to repeat til you're happy with how it looks.
Go to:
Filter > Texture > Mosaic Tiles
use the default settings.
Then use some motion blur found under:
Filter > Blur.
Change the angle to 40 degrees and distance set to 999.
Then duplicate the layer by either right clicking on it in the layers list
and choosing duplicate or press Ctrl + J.
With your copy as the active layer go to:
Edit > Transform > Flip horizontal.
Now play around with this layer's blending mode. Almost all looks good!
My favourite though is "Lighten"
