Anime header:

In this tutorial you will learn how to make this cute header.

Start by making a new document.
700px width and 135px height,
transparent background.
Foreground color: #FFD4E2
Background color: #D07298

Now, go to:
Filter > Render >Clouds.
Filter > Render > Difference Clouds.
Press Ctrl + F one time to repeat. Next go to:
Filter > Render > Lightning effect.
Use the following settings:

Press ok.

Make a new layer to put your anime image on.
I chose Shinku from Rozen Maiden for mine.
(image from anything-asian.net)
Take out your lasso tool and change:
Feather to 30px and check the anti-aliased box.
Draw a circle on your anime image,
where you want the focus to be.

Next, press Ctrl + shift + i to inverse the selection.
Press delete.
Depending on how your image looks, you may want to press
delete more than once to remove edges.
Press Ctrl + D to deselect it.
Then press this button:

and choose Hue/Saturation. (Ctrl + U)
Don't change any settings, just check the colorize box
and then press ok.
Your anime image should now be pink.

Change the layer's blending mode to Hard Light.
Next we're going to make the stars.
Take out your Custom shape tool.

And pick the one you like for the stars.
I used the one called sun2:

Don't forget to chose the option "Fill Pixels".

Make a new layer and start adding the stars.
Do around 10-15 stars on this layer.
Then duplicate the layer by right clicking on the layer
and choose duplicate. (ctrl + J)
After that go to:
Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal
then Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical.

Move the layer around abit so that not to many stars touch eachother.
Then press Ctrl + E to merge the two star layers together.

Right click on the star layer and choose duplicate again. (Ctrl + J)
This time go:
Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 cw.
You can play around a little with the diffrent options here,
just don't flip it to much so it ends up exactly like our original stars layer.

Next, merge the two layers like before. (Ctrl+ E)
Then press on that black and white, round, little icon, like before,
and choose Hue/Saturation.
In the lightness options, write 100 to make the stars white.
(Ctrl +Shift + U)
Change the blending mode of the stars to Soft light.

Now for the text.
Choose a font you like and write your text.
Then right click on the text layer and choose Blending options. Use following settings:

Now you're done, IF...
you don't have any slogan or some other thing you would like to write.
In that case, this is how you do the box for that text.

Start by writing your text with a pixel font.
Looks best if you use white color on the text here.
Place it in the left area of the whole image.
When you're done, make a new layer and take out your rectangular marquee tool and
make a selection around your text.

Fill it with that dark pink.
With the selection still there, go to:
Select > Modify > Contract > by 1px.
Press ok.
Now press delete to remove the new smaller selection.

Make a new layer, with the selection still there.
Fill the new layer with the light pink.
Now you can deselect. (Ctrl + D)
Change the light pink layer's blending mode to Soft light.
It should now look something like this:

Right click on you dark pink layer and choose blending options.
Use theese settings:

You could stop here if you're satisfied with your result.
But for those of you who want to do those little squares in the right corner, keep reading.

Make yet another new layer. Take out your rectangular marquee tool again.
Change the Style from Normal to Fixed Size in the menu just below File, Edit etc.
Width: 8px
Height: 8px

Click once in the right area of the image, on your new empty layer to make a selection.
Fill it with the dark pink color.
Duplicate the layer by pressing Ctrl + J.
Move the new square so there's 2px of space between them.
Keep adding theese squares til you're satisfied.

Then, with your last square-layer active, press Ctrl + E to merge it with the others.
Keep doing so until you only have one layer of squares.
Then right click on this layer and choose Blending Options.
Use the same settings as you used earlier for the text and the box.
Then add your text, if you want any,
around/inside/over/under the squares and congrats,
you've just finished a very long tutorial to write! xD
