50 years at service!!!
(1951 - 2001)

Docksta village in the High Coast was in the beginning of the fifties an expanding place. The shoe-factory and several other companies had "good times" and people were moving in to live and work. On the road the number of cars were increasing....

Then, Greta and Olle Wallinder got the idéa to open a roadside tavern. Greta worked then at the food-store and Olle was a carpenter. People shaked their heads and didn't belive that they could get along with the projekt, but the sceptics were proved wrong.

At this time you could get a meal of meat-balls for the price of SEK 1:30 and a cup of coffee for 10 ore (SEK 0,1).
And then things went on as usual to the end of the sixties, when the high-way E4 was moved out of the village and Docksta-baren lost 60% of their
guests.

At the same time Texaco had plans for a big gas-station in the north of Docksta, situated near the new high-way. The Wallinder family then decided to start a collaboration with Texaco and in 1969-70 the new Docksta-baren was built

Since 1989 the place is runned by Greta and Olles youngest son, Jan Åke Wallinder.

And in 2001 Docksta-baren celebrated its 50th year with an increasing number of guests...

Listen to Jerry Williams, when he sings "VINTERSAGA",

a beatiful tune written by Ted Ström,

where Docksta-baren is mentioned.
