Michel van Son & SONBASS double bass

Welcome to my peronal site !

My name is Michel van Son and I was born 1969 in the Netherlands.

Since august 2004 I live in Smaland Sweden in a small place called Slättåkra near Vetlanda.

My musical direction is mostly blues-orientated, but I also like to play other musical styles.
In The Netherlands I played in several blues- rock- and funkbands and did session work with an authentic Italian group and some coverbands.
I made a few records, toured around and performed at clubs, festivals and some local radio and television shows.

Here in Sweden I’ve build my own electric double bass and play on it in a great Chicago style bluesband here in Vetlanda called Crosseyed Cats.

I also play frequently with my dad in his bluesproject Catfish Charly.
