"Steam"
In his best moments on Steam, his fourth
album, Alabama-raised country singer Ty Herndon powerfully conveys
both frank sensuality and earnest soul-searching. In the sensuality
department, he serves up unbridled passion on the title tune,
as he does on Randy Newman's high-energy, playfully naughty "You
Can Leave Your Hat On." By contrast, on "Lookin' for
the Good life" Ty Herndon draws a painfully honest portrait
of spiritual poverty amid material plenty.Only now and then--on
"In a New York Second" and "A Love Like That"--does
he succumb wholeheartedly to his chronic Achilles' heel: a weakness
for musical bombast and bleating earnestness reminiscent of Michael
Bolton or Garth Brooks at their most wretched and excessive.

On his 4th CD,Herndon shows what keeps his fans coming back for
more, his amazing vocal ability. Whether it is the heart wrenching
"Pray For Me," or the sensual steamy lyrics of "Steam"
Herndon pulls your emotions in all directions with this lyrical
masterpiece. Other highlights of the cd include "No Mercy,"
"New York Second," and the decidingly pop-ish "Love
Like That." This is truly a CD you won't be disappointed
in. With honey smooth vocals and a warm welcoming voice, Herndon
pulls you in with his emotions and leaves you begging for more.
You'll want to pick up his 3 other CD's What Mattered Most, Living
In a Moment and Big Hopes. |
