No gentle sands caress
New souls on this raw shore.
Golgothan crawl on land's sharp bones
Pierce and press soft flesh.

Pebble burdened mind
Eyes full of stone
Trace crooked paths to siren's call
Dazed quest through marked flint maze
To cimmerian deep and final ease.
 
 

                 When the hurly-burly stops
                   ---------------------------
                   Still in circle glow
                   Time and money spent
                   Stomach churns in time
                   To rash carousel
                   I stand without
                   Squealing cling on spinning track
                   As apocalyptic horses stride on.

                   I turn from the siren light
                   To quiet air and standing tree,
                   Heavens stars beckon always
                   Beyond gleaming coloured light
                   While children of the night
                   Saunter home
                   in hunched embrace.
