After a big loss from my beloved american cocker-male, I had no dog. My husband had his
ASTI. Tobbe and Lina, Disodilīs kennels, had a newborn litter and we went to see it. There
she was, the prettiest weimaranerpuppy ever - DISA!
The sire of DISA, GBCH Varstock Voyager of Roxberg, "GAMBLER", was a dual-purpose. Breeder: Keith and
Margaret Absolam, owner: Miss Y L Sinclair. The grandsire, "DERRY", won well and sired twelve
ShowChampions and Champion offspring and one New Zealand Show Champion. DERRY generally passed
on his beautiful silver-grey colour, and he was renowned for his lovely temperament, always
happy, always playing the clown, a great character.
The dam of DISA, Zoola, called "DONNA", we knew earlier as the dam of our ASTI. As we were
very pleased with ASTI and her performance, we didnīt hesitate at all, having a new puppy
from DONNAs litter. Breeder of DONNA: Lage Nilsson, Sjöbo.
DONNAs prizes: several CK, Best Of Breed, CACIB, BOB-veteran and placed in the gundog groupfinals
at SKK allbreed dogshows. Hip-X-rayed: no sign of hipdysplasia.
In her second litter (AI, frozen semen) four puppies were born:
- Disodilīs Frostflinga: Hip-X-rayed: no sign of hipdysplasia. Mother of a litter of four
(sire: Tage) i e CopenhagenWinner2000 Disodilīs Iron.
- Disodilīs Kung Bore: Hip-X-rayed: Mild. Youthclass water 8, tracking 6.
- Disodilīs Nordman, and our own
- SUCH Disodilīs Dis O Dimma (prizes above!) Hip-X-rayed: no sign of hipdysplasia.
DISA is a dog with a lot of personality, very balanced and mentally stabile. We mostly use
her hunting birds: pheasants, ducks, geese, grouse... Sofar, DISA has had two litters, and
two of the puppies are exported to Norway and Finland.
The following years will be very interesting, to see how her offspring develops. She has also
several grand-children...
Disa is now retired from the whelpingbox and enjoys her life as senior!
