Jag fick min första skivspelare (en bärbar med högtalare i locket) i julklapp 1971. En egen radio kom till födelsedagen därpå. Nästa jul följde en kassettbandspelare. Jag tyckte om att lyssna till musik. Med bandspelaren följde samlandet. Min smak har naturligt nog skiftat med tidens och min egen gång. Jag lyssnar fortfarande på de LP-skivor som har överlevt mina gallringar. CD har jag bara ett fåtal med popmusik. Efter My Bloody Valentines sista (?) LP 1991 har jag bara skaffat en handfull nya popskivor. Här nedan redovisar jag mina 10% bästa popskivor; 43 titlar med en speltid av 1963 minuter. De har tagits fram i en "popcup", som pågick 981214-010611 (nästan precis två och ett halvt år) och från början bestod av 418 titlar med en speltid av 19474 minuter. Jag har spelat en skiva/tape/cd varje dag och betygsatt (1-5) varje minut av den. Den övre betygs-hälften har gått vidare till nästa omgång, tills jag efter fjärde omgången kom ner till dessa tio procent favoritskivor. Procenten räknas efter speltiden. Nedan redovisas resultatet i tre sorteringar; fallande statusordning, kronologiskt respektive i bokstavsordning. Betyder det att min alienation/antipati visavi popmusiken har upphört? Nej, den finns där fortfarande om än inte lika starkt som tidigare. Popcupen blev en instans att prova vad inom popen som fortfarande var tilltalande. Men nog tarvades en del tolerans! I got my first gramophone (a portable one with loudspeaker in the lid) as christmas gift in 1971. A radio followed the coming birthday. The next christmas there appeared a tape recorder! I enjoyed listening to music. With the tape recorder the collecting began to gather speed. Naturally my taste has changed with the years and my own growth. I still listen to those LP:s that have survived my purgings. I never got round to getting a lot of pop cd:s. After My Bloody Valentine's last (?) album of 1991, I've just bought a couple of popalbums. There are three lists here containing the result of my "popcup" in three different orders; appreciation, chronological and alphabetical. In the popcup all my surviving poprecords took part. I listened to and graded (1-5) every minute of them. The best half went on to a second round, who's upper half went on to a third round. The fourth round resulted in the list of my 10 % most appreciated poprecords: 43 pieces with a playing time of 1963 minutes. The cup lasted 981214-010611 and started with 418 records with a playing time of 19474 minutes. What about my alienation/antipathy towards pop music? Well, it's still there, though not as strong as before. Listening to and grading all those old records where a strange mix between present and past appreciations, also involving a bit of tolerance.
