Part 5. December 2003

Interior

After the welding and grinding was done I have to drive out the old bitch for cleaning. The car was dirty after all work. Cause the interior is out I have to sit on the floor when I drove it. Shit, my arms and legs where to short!

Actually, I haven’t done so much for the last days but I have to update this page with something. I clean up the dashboard and polish the chrome a little bit.

When it comes to the interior there are no shortcuts. Or..  But the more I think about it, why not? Made it by yourselves. Hm… Unfortunately I never drive one of these machines but what a f**k. Can you saw a steel plate straight in a sawing machine you should be able to sew a piece of clothe without problem? Then you can always do ”The Dennis Ljung style”, witch is empty a couple of beer before and it will be 100 percent straight.  I have already bought the clothes so the Christmas holiday should be enjoyed over the sew machine. Do you think I’m over optimistic?

Here a little sample of the work on the front seat.

A sew machine is evidently generated some heat and to avoid to get completely dried out you must concern about your fluid balance. As you can see, I take no chances.

You learn by you mistakes when you are a novice, but as time goes by you learn the trick. Unfortunately I run out of cloth and have to buy more because I screw it up in the beginning.

Now the seats are back in it’s place and a new carpet as well. I order a new headliner but haven’t got it yet. Also the wind lacer is on its way.

All there except the door handle.
