One of my projects is a taxonomic revision of the genus Xanthoria (Fr.) Th. Fr. in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and (if possible) Finland. I have 10 years of experience of the genus in the Nordic countries, as well as North America. In 2001, I received a travel grant from Olaf Grolle-Olsens fond. It covered ca. 10 days of field work, which I carried out in Norway and Sweden. Most of the known localities for the red listed taxon X. fallax were visited and about 40 potentially good localities for Xanthoria were investigated. We collected an extensive material of Xanthoria and other lichens and bryophytes, including potentially new species for the area or to science.
The project will run parallel to my post doctoral project and benefit from the field work and the molecular results. Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any information or questions regarding the project and the planned publications!
