CV for Magnus Krampell

Education:
My mother tongue is Swedish, I have an excellent command of English, colloquial knowledge of Polish (Polish wife), some command of German (have been living in Germany) and basic knowledge of French and Spanish.
My strength lies in that I can often quickly acquire and keep an overview of complex systems. I am an innovative entrepreneur and can propose new solutions to problems.
Professional experience:
May 2005 - now: IOP manager at Obigo AB (A Teleca company)
January 2001 - April 2005: Consultant at Teleca Software Solutions AB. (Teleca merged with AU-System AB in January 2002), in Lund, Sweden. From April 2001 I was assisting Consultant Unit Manager and business responsible for the area of MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) testing and WAP testing. I developed the business of a test tool for MMS, now called "ProTeller".
May 1997 December 2000: Project Supervisor at EURESCOM (European Institute for Research and Strategic Studies in Telecommunications GmbH), Heidelberg, Germany. (List of supervised projects)
My main areas of responsibility were "IP and Internet" and "Quality of Service" (QoS). Work included identifying needs for international research projects in the areas of responsibility, set-up projects, supervise project execution and help disseminate project results. (Approximately 50 researchers worked in the supervised projects, with a yearly budget of ~ 5 M Euro) The work also included following activities in ITU-T, ETSI, IETF and other fora.
I followed the projects I supervised closely and attended project meetings in order to "mentor" them into producing interesting results. I have found that I also learned much from the contacts with the project participants, technically as well as socially. I take a personal interest in the QoS area, and have co-authored several papers (see below). I have also been engaged in trying to promote European initiatives in the area of advanced Internet technologies (e.g. a European "Internet 2" initiative).
August 1990 April 1997 Project leader/Senior Project Leader at Telia Research AB/ Telia Engineering AB (Research and development branch of Telia AB) in Malmö, Sweden.
Three periods can be distinguished: Early nineties Project leader for research and development of a TMN system (with Ericsson Telecom) for Network Element and Network level management of PSTN (AXE switches). Mid nineties: Collaboration with Bellcore and development work within TINA (see: http://www.tinac.com/) in New Jersey, USA. (I spent a year and a half in the US) Later: Project leader for research and development of services for a broadband network, including procurement discussions regarding a platform with service components.
The service I worked on (and pushed for) would enable users to transparently access their "home" environment, whenever and wherever they are (in the world). Strong security would be provided and users would have "smart cards". The project lost its drive when I left and such a service is still not available!
January 1988 July 1990 System Developer at SattControl AB in Lund, Sweden.
The work included software development of components for a system for centralised factory
control. (The company was bought by Alfa Laval and subsequently by ABB, but the product is
still available, see: http://www.abb.com/...)
September 1984 December 1987 Part time Lecturer at Lund University, in parallel with doctoral studies. Subjects taught include Basic Programming, Assembler Programming, Computer architecture and micro-programming. (I also developed the course before teaching it)
