Curriculum Vitae of
Born
1940-07-18
Others usually describe me as a serious, optimistic, flexible and creative “hard worker”…. but today, after my retirement, I live much more according to the principles of Carpe Diem which means that I am involved in research, but also give attention to projects connected to my carrier as occupational therapist (handicraft and art).
Major research interests follow the line of applied cross scientific investigations with focus on humans, e.g. Physical and psychosocial work environment, Indoor air climate and health, Sick Building Syndrome (including methodology, statistics and validity questions). My background from a natural scientific secondary high school education, academic education in psychology and careers as occupational therapist and Ph.D. formed a scientific approach that is environmental psychological (everything interrelate in a holistic, dynamic way). So far... I am convinced that the physical environment and the social environment interact with inheritance for behavior and health, and that human reactions are dependent on earlier events and the present situation.
Education and work
1960-1983. The education for work as an
occupational therapist mainly contained art and handicraft, leadership and
pedagogic led to employments enclosing (re)habilitation of retarded adults in
nursing homes and schools and teacher of handicraft. During this time period I
was also involved in non-profit organizations:
Chairman of the local section of the organization Home and School; Youth
leader and board member of Boo IF Athletics. The latter engagements resulted in
two honors (‘Leader of the year’; ‘

Education and work

After the
dissertation I did research on a free lance basis during a few years, followed
by employment at Blekinge International School of Public Health (BIH), where I
lectured, supervised and carried out tasks connected to quality assurance and
development of the college (Member of the committee for education at BIH, and 3
working groups: ‘Development of master education’, ‘Guarantee
of the education level’ and ‘Guarantee of the examination
level’). The employment also enclosed research in cooperation with the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning
and Karlskrona community (which resulted in the award ‘Årets
allergiinsats’ from The Swedish Foundation for Health Care Sciences). 1995-2005
I worked as Senior lecturer in cognitive and environmental psychology at
Since my academic career resulted in several publications presented at national and international conferences I became referee for Indoor Air - International Journal of Indoor Environment and Health and reviewer of grant applications for the Swedish Council for Building Research. During this time period I was also member of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (and two working groups within ISIAQ: Guidelines for investigations in buildings; Standardization of questionnaires for the sick building syndrome), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the Swedish Society of Medicine, Division of work- and environmental medicine.
