Upholstery
- Leather / Alcantara
seating

What is Alcantara?
Microfiber
is a fabric blend usually made of polyester & nylon.
There are many different combinations that are represented with
different
manufacturers. Generally, the feel is smooth, soft and
flexible.
A special process using water-pressure splits a single fiber into
more
than 1000 microfibres, entangling them at the same time.
A well known trademark within Microfiber is Alcantara®.
Alcantara®
looks
and feels just like a nice suede (german=Wildleder), It
basically has
the look of natural leather and can be ordered as an optional
insert for
the seats. It's more expensive than leather but without the drawbacks.
The material is embossed like leather and smells like leather.
Maintenance
Its easy maintenance is one of Alcantara®'s greatest advantages.
Soap and water is all it takes to renew Alcantara®'s splendor, the
brilliance of
its colors, its elegant finish. Alcantara®'s beauty and
quality remain intact,
just like new, for a very long time.
Spots
and stains
In the case of persistent stains, there are only a few
simple steps to follow to
return
Alcantara®
to
its original beauty:
- Treat fresh stains immediately, working at the stain towards the
center to
avoid spreading
and watermarks.
- Remove as much of the staining material as possible with a knife or
spoon.
Dab immediately with a clean cloth.
- Treat each stain according to the method recommended.
- The area immediately surrounding the stain should be dabbed gently
with
a clean sponge
or paper towel.
- In any case, it is absolutely necessary to rinse the area very well to
remove
any traces of detergent.
- It is important not to scrub the stain, as too much force could cause
irreversible
alterations to the fabric's surface.

A
knotty surface (See below)
Could
be caused by extensive soiling during a long time without cleaning,
too much force when cleaning or
simply wear.
There are no recommendations to fix this problem.
I have used a shaver for knotty clothes, (see below) with a good result.
