Mosaic

Mosaic is about using clues to solve puzzles (Nonograms® - a registered trademark of James Dalgety) made up from dark and light 'tiles' placed in a grid, and about composing such puzzles for others to solve. It's good fun and puzzles can be made to be extremely difficult, in the hands of a skilled composer. Mosaic has also a built-in random puzzle generator, and a built-in solver, which makes sure the puzzles can be solved and will explain what to do next, if you get stuck. There is a comprehensive Help Book to read if you are new to these puzzles.

Here's Mosaic's opening screen:

Here´s a puzzle I wish I'd designed:

and here's another:

This one is difficult to solve in less than 1024x768. But it's magnificent:

Mosaic version 1.9

Version 1.9 is the last version of Mosaic that will be issued. (A fully-featured Mosaic II must await the solution to fundamental problems of development and testing.)

There is a small collection of puzzles, the sample.lib puzzle library, included in the package.

You are free to download Mosaic, to enjoy it and to pass it on to others exactly as downloaded, but not to exploit it commercially. Mosaic is provided 'as is' and the author accepts no liability for loss or damage, however caused, arising from its use.

If you are unused to these things, there's some advice on the download here.
