What is MagicLight

MagicLight is a 3D modeler and render for any platform with Java 1.5 and OpenGL support, it will create high quality images and can also be used for animation. The goal is a platform independent modeler with advanced functions like nurbs, splines, FFD, inverse kinematics, particles, motion blur and some other fun stuff. The most important thing for me is animation, I will make every effort to make MagicLight a very flexible animation tool.

The modeler will have a built in renderer, at the moment this will be a zbuffer based render, bot other may be included in the future, MagicLight will also be able to export to other formats of course, I try to use XML for most file formats to make it as open as possible, you can design your own shaders in Java.

MagicLight will be distributed under the GPL General Public License, though some components may be using other licenses.

QtJava 1.5/5.0 is used for the big part of MagicLight

IRITThe IRIT libraries (9.5) are used for geometry management
