Some Leica Screwmount Pictures

I have used Leica screw mount cameras for all pictures on this page
A black Leica III (1932), a IIIa (1937) and a IIIF RD from 1954.
I used 50 mm lenses only:
Elmar 50/3,5 (1934, uncoated) and Red Scale Elmar 50/3,5 (1956, coated)
Summar 50/2,0 (1937, uncoated)
Summitar 50/2,0 (1951, coated)
Summicron 50/2,0 (1953, coated and collapsible)

I tend to use these cameras for more personal photography,
but below, you will see some pictures from Paris in June 1999,
all made with Leica lenses from the 1930's.

This is a picture of my daughter Karolina, in Katthammarsvik, Gotland (Leica III and Elmar 50/3,5). I used Ilford XP2 film, and exposure was F/3,5 at 1/60th. .

Moments later, I took this picture of the Sacre Coeur. Leica III and Elmar 50

This is the most beautiful screw Leica ever made, if you ask me! This is in fact my own black Leica III, that started it's life as a Leica II, but later on it was converted to a III model with strap lugs and the long shutter times. Notice the knobs and Elmar lens, made in nickel instead of the chrome finish used on chrome bodies.
Is it not fascinating, that this camera and other similar ones just goes on delivering pictures, decade after decade...
This Leica III is in fact the body that produced most pictures on this page!

Me, with a Leica III ;)
