1. Kalle Lane (131.8 kg) 31.5p.
2. Mikael Siversson (83.3 kg) 27p.
3. Johan Albrektsson (99.8 kg) 23p.
4. Arne Persson (111.7 kg) 21.5p.

6. Sebastian Bengtsson (95.6 kg) 9.5p.

With three victories and one third place Kalle Lane took the LGC 02/03 season Grip Master title (the second in a row). Second
was Mikael Siversson and third Håkan Petschler.
Grippers
(IM #2 rated at 2.00, IM #2 r.a. 2.28, IM #2 r.a. 2.45, PDA 359ip r.a. 2.62, IM #3 r.a. 2.80, IM #3 r.a. 3.00, BBE r.a. 3.22, BBE r.a. 3.55 (prelim. rating of the last gripper).
1. Mikael Siversson 6.22 (3.22+3.00)
2. Kalle Lane 5.60 (2.80+2.80)
2. Stefan Ljungberg 5.60 (2.80+2.80)
4. Johan Albrektsson 5.45 (3.00+2.45)
5. Arne Persson 4.80 (2.80+2.00)
6. Björn Acklid 4.62 (2.62+2.00)
7. Sebastian Bengtsson 4.28 (2.28+2.00)
I failed to set a new LGC record but I came close. I had less than a mm left on the 3.55 righty and the 3.22 lefty. Maybe
next time. I did a miserable attempt with a double close of two #3's, spending way too much time setting them and failed.
A very impressive performance by Johan in his first LGC competition ever.
One hand pinch (69 mm width set up)
1. Kalle Lane 78 kg (39.5 righty+38.5 lefty)
2. Mikael Siversson 77.5 kg (40.5+37)
3. Johan Albrektsson 77 kg (38.5+38.5)
4. Björn Acklid 0 kg
4. Arne Persson 0 kg
4. Sebastian Bengtsson 0 kg
4. Stefan Ljungberg 0 kg
The minimum weight was 33 kg. Everyones results were down and we felt that the plates were a bit more slippery than usual.
We suspect Kalle . He held on to the oily spring of the gripper when setting it and then went on with the pinching before
washing his hands. A bit of oil on the plates is all it takes to affect the results. Once again an impressive performance
by Johan. He may soon be the man to beat in the pinch in the LGC.
Rolling Thunder
1. Kalle Lane 200 kg (new LGC record) (104 righty+96 lefty)
2. Arne Persson 176 kg (93+83)
3. Johan Albrektsson 172 kg (90+82)
4. Mikael Siversson 168 kg (88+80)
5. Sebastian Bengtsson 160 kg (80+80)
6. Stefan Ljungberg 134 kg (67+67)
7. Björn Acklid 108 kg (56+52)
A one man show. Kalle Lane is still undefeated in the Rolling Thunder. 200 kg in combined result is something few people can
do with the strict LGC rules. Björn did well considering he had never seen a RT implement before.
Vertical bar (one inch diametre)
1. Mikael Siversson 262.5 kg (137.5 righty+125 lefty)
2. Kalle Lane 260 kg (130+130)
3. Stefan Ljungberg 240 kg (122.5+117.5)
4. Johan Albrektsson 235 kg (112.5+122.5)
5. Arne Persson 215 kg (112.5+102.5)
6. Sebastian Bengtsson 197.5 kg (100+97.5)
7. Björn Acklid 182.5 kg (100+82.5)
Here, I almost gave it all away. I decided that my hands needed some washing after the RT with the result that they became
very slippery. I opened with 122.5 righty which slipped out of my hand. I knew my left hand strength was down compared to
last LGC due to an inflammation so I took it easy and opened with 107.5 which I took but it felt heavy. After the third
round I had 235 kg (117.5+117.5) and was in second place together with Kalle but after Stefan when the slippery feeling in
my hands disappeard. Stefan failed both his fourth lifts whereas Kalle put the pressure on with an easy 122.5+122.5=245. I
replied with 125+122.5=247.5 which both suddenly felt very easy. Stefan again failed both his fifth lifts while Kalle did a
strong 130+130=260 kg. I then decided to jump 12.5 kg to 137.5 righty which I pulled easily. I felt in fact stronger than
when I did 142.5 kg at the LGC VIII. It was so easy that I held it quite a while which resulted in major skin loss. Same
story with the lefty. I needed 125 kg which I pulled easily, held it for awhile and again lost some skin. Anyway, I learned
an important lesson. Don't start washing your hands just prior to a V-bar lift on a slippery bar.
Plate curl over a bench (about 80 degrees angle). Maximum angle allowed between underside of forearm and back of
hand was about 30 degrees. Plate had to be perfectly in line with forearm. No tilt allowed. Lift finished at top position.
We used a 10 kg and a 15 kg plate to which we could add extra weight. Two ** denote 15kg-plate being used with both hands. One * denotes 15kg-plate being used with one hand.
1. Arne Persson 35 kg**(used 15 kg plate) (18.5 kg righty+16.5 kg lefty)
2. Kalle Lane 33 kg** (used 15 kg plate) (16.5+16.5)
3. Johan Albrektsson 30.5 kg*(15 kg plate with righty) (15+15.5)
4. Stefan Ljungberg 31 kg (16+15)
5. Mikael Siversson 30.5 kg (16+14.5)
6. Björn Acklid 27 kg (14+13)
7. Sebastian Bengtsson 24 kg (10+14 kg)
A big congrat to Arne who finally won an event. Arne has strong wrists which we all had to learn the hard way.
