About us:

Our home in Lima.
Here is some information about
us. We are Jan Sörli and Ywonne Sörli - Stafås, and
live in Lima, in the northwest of Dalarna. We have two grown daughters,
Jenny and Rose-Marie, who both have moved out. We bought our first
Welsh in 1995, and that was Molle from Kennel Thawround´s. Ywonne
had had Labrador Retrievers earlier, but found out that she wanted to
try another breed, since the Labradors had severe health problems.
Molle was more than a handful to us, as we were used to the calm
labradors, so he was the only dog in the family for the first years. In
1998, Nova made her entrance, and Molle was not impressed with her, he
found her really disgusting, but he gradually changed his mind as she
grew older. Nova came to us from Kennel Trigger, and as a puppy /
junior, she was the opposite of Molle, as she was very calm and
peaceful, while Molle had been wilder than any dog we´d ever met.
As the years have gone by, they have both changed. Molle has become
more calm and peaceful, and Nova has become more energetic and sparky.
In 2002, their only puppies were born. 3 girls and 2 boys, all named
after different brands of whisky. One of the girls and both boys stayed
in our family. Jan kept Pooh (Famouse Grouse) for himself, while
Rose-Marie chose a girl, Flisa (Four Roses) and Jenny wanted the
remaining male - Loke (Lord Calvert). Our kennel´s name -
Gravelfarm´s - is a direct translation of the name of our house
and yard. Ywonne´s interest in game tracking started early, when
she had the Labradors in the 1980´s, and also convinced
Rose-Marie that it was a fun activity together with dogs.
Jan´s interest in game tracking came many years later, when
Ywonne bought Nova, and Molle became his first own dog. Then Jan found
that he enjoyed both shows and tracking, and nowadays has also hunting
has become an activity for him and his dogs. Today, he´s also
become a judge of game tracking trials, as well as trains and competes
with his own dogs in tracking and in shows. He also uses Molle and Pooh
for tracking wounded mooses during the hunting season. Since Molle now
is older, but not yet retired, Jan mostly concentrates on the younger
Pooh. The whole family have all trained our dogs in game tracking since
they were puppies, and we´re proud to say they have a good nose
for it!
