At Fredshammar and in its surroundings of great natural beauty, you have a lot of things to do.

Fishing

Everyone who enjoys fishing can choose between a range of fine fishing-waters, from the adjacent Ore river with grayling and salmon trout to rapid streams and small, bewitching forest lakes.

Hiking

For the hiker, there are beautiful hiking trails like the Siljan trail and the 19th century footpaths of the priests through mile-wide wilderness.

Orienteering

The orienteers find one of the best forest terrains in Sweden right across the Ore river. The map is new.

Paddle a canoe

To paddle on your own along the Ore river and in the Orsa and Skattunge lakes is an impressive experience. Bring your fishing gear and binoculars! For groups, we can offer a guide. Book in advance!

Beaver safari

We go and see the beavers at their homes in the Ore river. The safari must be booked in advance.

Riding/horse and waggon

Day trips with a guide or staying the night in a prairie waggon. Book at 46 - 250 - 55 30 14. Also visit "Horse & Waggon" (in swedish).

Parachuting

At Tallhed's airfield, 2-3 kilometres from Fredshammar, you can try parachuting. Tallhed's airfield is perhaps Swedens best and biggest parachuting fieldt! Here, several flying records have been beaten. The field is over 1 kilometre wide in all directions so you have plenty of room and, in the air, great visibility. When you are a few hundred metres up in the air, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the landscape. During the summer there are several other activities at the airfield as well.

Stonecutting

A unique chance to try the profession of which the people of Orsa made a living from in the past. Awake your sleeping talent as a carver! Under the guidance of cunning stonecutters and carvers, you can make a grindstone in the same way as the locals did several hundred years ago. Or why not a birdbath, a candle holder or a sculpture out of your own imagination?
