I
started to build cane rods 1989 after having read Garrisons
book "A Master´s Guide to Building A Bamboo Fly Rod". I also wrote a
computer code in FORTRAN (This was before the enter of the PC and
Excel) where Garrisons formulas were implemented. I started to
conduct experimental calculations with different types of stress
curves and calculated a series of rods that satisfied my taste. This
series I named Woxnan since I have trodden my first fishing trails
along the banks of my beloved River Voxnan in the district of
Hälsingland, Sweden. These rods remind of Garrison´s tapers but are
a little bit longer in each class respectively, since I prefer
longer rods. Please try to build your own Woxnan rod from these
tapers!

Woxnan no 1 (199) 7'3" #4, Holk 13/64"
Woxnan no 1½ (203) 7'3" #4-5, Holk 13/64"
Woxnan no 2 (205) 7'6" #5, Holk 13/64"
Woxnan no 3 (208) 7'9" #5-6, Holk 13/64"
Woxnan no 3½ (210) 8' #5-6, Holk 14/64"
Woxnan no 4 (212) 8' #6, Holk 14/64"
Woxnan no 4E (214) 8' #6, Holk 14/64"

Woxnan no 6 (220) 8'3" #6-7, Holk 15/64"
Woxnan no 7 (223) 8'6" #6-7, Holk 15/64"
Woxnan parabolic.

Woxnan parabolic 795 (218) 7'9" #5, Holk

Here are some tapers that circulate among rod builders and which
are measurings from famous rods.
Collorado 7´8" #5, Holk 15/64"
Long Cast 8´4" #6, Holk 16/64"
Power Plus 8´3" #6, Holk 16/64"
A Powell rod is also available. 8 foot 8 inch and an estimated
class of #6:
Powell 8.8

In addition this Leonard rod, 8 foot and class #4-5 I would dare
to guess.
HL Leonard

Salmo for tough battles. Two-handed salmon rod in three
pieces for line #10.
Salmo 129 12' #9-10, Holkar 19/64",
30/64"

Finally a rod that I have designed for my friend Ronny Jillebo,
the most skillfull fly fisherman I´ve ever met, now living in
Lofsdalen in the district of Härjedalen, Sweden.
RJ Special (220) 8´ #6-7, Tredelat, holkar 12/64",
17/64"
This rod is based on the same stress curve as some of the Woxnan
tapers and has aproximately similar character as the Woxnan No 6
but, as you can see, a three piece rod.
