Angling the Swedish winter-way!

It's a piece of wood, with a metal "flag" that signal if the line have left the flag. And a reel with line and a special hook for live bait. You can load it with gunpowder so you get a blast when the line gets away and the fish has taking the bait.

Each fisherman has 10 to 15 of these. The most ordinary catch is Pike.

The sport fishing association don't think this is sport fishing! And it's only allowed in some lakes.

But it sure is fun, to sit around a fire, on the ice, with your friends. And wait for the big blast... then run to it and pull the line up. Hopefully there is a fish on it.

Jigging on the ice!

When the ice gets over 10 cm thick, we go out and start drilling holes to fish in.

You need a ice-drill, little rod with a line on, lures and warm clothes. It is a very cheep and simple fishing. But not easy to catch a fish...

Lure for jigging, in natural size.
