WELCOME TO THE

These pages are devoted to all wonderful horses!

When sufring the Internet I found that it is quite far between the really good horse sites - especially those where you can find advise, information and horse tips in general. I would like to share with you what I've come across and hopefully somebody out there will find or learn something new. Being into Icelandic horses myself you might find a big part of my pages are devoted to this breed. However, most of what goes for Icelandic horses also goes for other breeds (horses being horses)!

Have a look around and most importantly - have fun!

Enjoy!

Please add a note in my guestbook to let me know you were here.

MY BEST SUMMER TIP

For all of you who have not yet discovered the relief your horse can get from all those

flies and mosquitos, as well as from the sun, please have a look at the following link.

Summer pyjamas

I can highly recommend the use of their pyjama type blanket.

It also helps reduce the symptoms of sweet itch/summer excema!!!

See the following link for success story ItchBase + picture/description

A lotion that proved to be very effective when tried on some of the

horses in our stable is made in Sweden and called "Nylander's hästkräm".

After three days of use the small as well as open wounds were staring to heal rapidly.

It's all made of natural ingredients like tar and vinegar.

I can really recommend you to try for yourself!

To read more about sweet itch go here.

Make your own fly repellant:

Buying fly repellants for the horse during the summer season is not cheap.

But you can actually make your own fly repellant / fly spray without having to pay very much for the ingredients.

I have collected some recipes found on the web - though how effective they are you have to try yourself!

To the recipes !

MY BEST WINTER TIP

When the cold winter causes the water in the fields to freeze to ice,

and removing it will get your hands wet and cold....

the best tool to use when removing the ice and/or snow from the water is the below "ice ladle".

It is commonly used, for basically the same task, when winter fishing.

It can be found in almost any good sport fishing store.
