Jan's Background Jan Lundquist is an established Swedish painter who was born in Stockholm in 1935, and later moved with his family to Uppsala in 1965 where he resides to this day. He works mainly with water colours catching the richness in old architecture found in London, Stockholm and Uppsala. For those looking for the humoristic and everyday snapshots at life, Jan does a mean study in human frailties and animal demeanor and he captures the wonderful events when both collide. Uppsala Nya Tidning, which is the city's main newspaper, keeps Jan busy by commissioning illustrations to news events and political debates. Jan is available for and has completed many commissions for private collectors, corporations and government offices, both here in Sweden and abroad. He presents and will sell his original works along with numbered and signed lithographies. Jan's father is the late Birger Lundquist, a well know Swedish painter and illustrator.
