From end of 50:s and ahead Hawkey Franzén has constantly developed his playing and singing within many genres but maybe mostly the style and mood in his songs are more blues than other. Much of the material is his own or he has "adopted" others originals and interpreted into swedish or he´s made music to poems. In his bag are the childhood´s introduction of folkmusic and "Jularbo"-dancemusic through father Olle who played some violin and accordion, music that Hawkey got lots of use for later in life as he has composed different kinds of music for theatre. In that field he has also worked as musician and actor. Surely that´s why he´s open for any music as long it´s genuin and good...

Hawkey has appeared in all thinkable
connections. He will, as well,play and sing in a prison, in a church, an
unionmeeting, a songfestival, local hall, a jazz- or bluesclub, library, hospital, etc.
Hawkey´s been working together with for ex. famous, deceased, jazzbasist Sture Nordin. Hawkey also appears on TV or radio now and then.
