Here you will find some one liners from events as well as answers to various questions that were printed in magazines. And also comments about Stuart from his Co-stars

Stuart Damon: This job is sweet, and playing opposite Leslie Charleson as my wife Monica all those years made it even sweeter. We never stop laughing, and I can make her laugh anytime I want to. Once I broke into a hospital scene to do my impression of Elmer Fudd going to the barber, you know, "just take a wittel off the top." Everyone cracked up, and we had to take the whole scene over again.

Stuart Damon: I´ve never considered myself the type of man that women go screaming down the street to me. Yet, that´s what happened to me in Denver a couple of years ago. I was making a TV movie with Sean Kanan, who plays my TV son AJ. I couldn´t believe it when the young lovelies rushed over to me….and ignored Sean! I felt like such a stud muffin.

Stuart Damon: My favourite scene was a doozy of a battle Alan and Monica had years ago. We really went at each other. I fell over a sofa. She knocked over a table. We were rolling around the floor ready to kill each other - but instead we made mad, passionate love! Ah, what a marriage.

Stuart Damon: As Dr. Alan Quartermaine, Monica´s breast cancer is the best story I´ve ever had, because the cancer is happening to him as well as for her….and the husband´s suffering is rarely explored on TV. One GH Fan who also suffers with cancer wrote to me, "I only hope any woman unfortunate enough to have breast cancer will be lucky enough to have a husband like Alan" I was floored.

Stuart Damon: I loved being caught between my wife Monica and my mistress Lucy-in my book that was storyline heaven! I went to bed more times with Lucy in three weeks than I did in twelve years with Monica. You wouldn´t believe how often I got to take off my clothes in those days!

How have Alan and Monica survived 20 years of marriage?
They forgive each other, need each other, love each other. Their love goes beyond their indiscretions.

(About one of his favourite scenes) Another favorite scene is from about 1982, when Monica and Alan were on the outs and ins - as they’ve often been - and she said she was going to take him for everything he was worth. Alan completely flipped out, saying, “You want everything? Fine! You’ve got it all... and started stripping off his shirt, tie, jacket, and everything until he - I - was left standing there practically buck naked! Then Alan said “You want all this, too?” and grabbed hold of Monica and kissed her. She responded, and it turned into the most passionate love scene, with Alan and Monica rolling around the floor.. It was also probably the most macho scene I’ve ever done in the almost 21 years I’ve been on the show.”

Stuart's 1999 SOD Awards Acceptance Speech
When I started out in this business, I was told there would be five phases in every actor's life: Who's Stuart Damon? Get me Stuart Damon. Get me someone like Stuart Damon. Get me a young Stuart Damon. Who is Stuart Damon? This is obviously phase four and I'm not moving! Thank you, I love you all!

If you're new, young and willing to give your work 100 percent, then Stuart Damon is the best mentor you could ever hope to run across on-set. He goes out of his way to make sure every newcomer feels welcome and that he's there if needed, because "I want them to do their best. I want them to give of themselves because I love actors."

ABC Soaps in Depth, December 25, 2001
Stuart Damon may be Jewish, but he doesn’t mind the Christmas traditions wife Deirdre indulges in every year around this time. In fact, he enjoys it as much as the children. With awe, he recounted the exacting, loving, Martha Stewart-like detail his wife devotes to tree trimming, gift wrapping and merry making. Nothing on their tree, btw, is store-bought fakery. "Every single item on the tree is handmade. Every strand, every light is perfect," he described. "It takes hours for Deirdre to pick a tree. . .hours! I dread going. I always try to be busy so she’ll do it herself."

From a fan on a messageboard
Alan has one of the yummiest voices in daytime. Deep and rich like homemade caramel.

Quotes From Stuart's Co-stars

Anna Lee (Lila Quartermaine): As Lila, I´m often described as "gracious", but my backstage reputation changed after I accidentally rolled my motorized wheelchair over the toes of Stuart Damon. Now when the cast and crew see me barreling down the corridors, they shout, "Look out here comes Anna!". And Leslie Charleson even gave me a crash helmet naming me "The British Bullet!"

Shell Kepler(Amy Vining): One of my first scenes was with Stuart Damon, who I´d had a crush on since I was a kid and saw him on TV as Prince Charming in Cinderella! He was still charming when I met him as Amy. In our first scene together, my line was, "I feel like Cinderella". It just cracked me up!

Sean Kanan(AJ Quartermaine): I credit Stuart Damon for helping me every step of the way. He pulled a great performance out of me when he read with me at my audition. And the day before I began, he left a message on my answering machine that said,"We´re excited you´re coming on the show. You´re gonna do great!" That made me a lot less nervous about my first day.

Denise Galik-Furey(Rhonda Wexler): Stuart Damon and I used to to the Achy-Breaky Texas two-step together! I couldn´t believe it, because I had the biggest crush on him when I was a kid in Cleveland. He was the young leading man in a whole string of musicals that I saw there. When I told Stuart, all he said was, "Please don´t say you were a little girl. It makes me sound so old." So, don´t tell him, but I was only eight!

Leslie Charleson: When Stuart read the script about Monica becoming involved with Dr. Dorman, never have you seen a happier man," Charleson laughs. "It's much more fun for us to have conflicts than it is to be nice. He loves playing mean and scary, and he's so good at it. I don't even have to act at all. It scares the daylights out of me.

Leslie Charleson: I couldn't ask for a better friend to work with than Stuart. He's a great friend, not to mention a great actor.

Question: Have you ever sat down to watch Stuart Damon's performance as Prince Charming?
Leslie Charleson: Yes - nothing makes my day more than seeing Stuart in tights!

Question: Who has the best sense of humor of the cast?
John Ingle: Probably Stuart Damon.
