Light Red and Green
1958-1964.

In 1958, Meccano changed its colour scheme to a very light red and green, and this is how the Number One outfit looked in 1959. As you may see from the following pictures, there were three distinctive "colour steps" in these outfit these years, ranging from the grayish-green of 1958 to the clear sap green of 1964.

Here's something really nice - a mint and strung accessory outfit N:o 1A in its original box. No, I'll never cut that green cord - even if I needed that extra Road Wheel to get my model complete!

In 1964, my grandmother gave me a Meccano Outfit Number Two for Christmas. (It's not the one illustrated, though - only a few parts are left over from my original set.) Considering that she had to live on a very small pension, this really was a grand gesture! Nevertheless, the attached instruction book also covered some models that you only could build if you had a larger outfit ...

In fact, I had to wait forty years before I found this N:o 2A, making my Meccano an Outfit Number Three. And would you believe it: That N:o 2A was made in the same year that I got my first Meccano - in 1964! Parts box is missing, but otherwise this set is in a brilliant unused condition.
