WorkingOne of the ideas behind technocracy is that technology should be used for peoples benefit. So, that means if we can get a high degree of automation via the use of robots etc, then we can increase the amount of leisure time without decreasing the standard of living for people. People would still need to work but their working hours could be reduced considerable. Everyone that was able to work would have work. One proposal could see people working for four hours a day for four days and then having three days off. There would still be unpleasant jobs to do or jobs where people would have to work longer hours but these could be compensated for by increasing the leisure time. |
