Purpose

With the homepage we intend to illustrate how orchids can be cultivated. We would like to inform about the methods used to grow orchids in laboratories and act as a resource for good quality biology; attracting the attention of people and make them want to read about these fantastic plants. Pointing out that micropropagation also can be done at home using simple methods.

There is some history about orchids, some general guidelines for care, and a bit of information about the threats of extinction, the rules involving trade etc.

The site is a presentation of a project on micropropagation.
