Mats "MacMats" Julin, 1960 Vintage
"What fascinates me most about whisky is the amount of aromas and flavours that can be fitted into one tiny bottle. You really get intoxicated, it gets into your blood. It's a shame there are so many exclusive, over-priced, over-finished, over-marketed, over-collected whiskies to be found today, but with standard bottlings like Highland Park 18 YO and Lagavulin 16 YO you'll get along just as well. I do."
MacAJ says: The genuine fantast. Knows every corner around whisky. Can't get enough of the stuff or the knowledge about it. I would guess that his next move will be to work in a distillery. Between work and whisky he still tries to become a rock'n roll star.
MacKnet says: Actually bought an empty cask to get buried in. His wife has been told that he will use it for an own vat, but we know it's for his future ashes. To us he's almost a guru. The way he uses every sense to enjoy a malt makes you think of a religious fanatic or, at least, a mad scientist.......he probably was a stillmaster or something in his previous life. I've got no idea which distillery it might have been.
MacLars says: The expert! Constantly sharing his experiences and knowledge. Constantly expanding his stock of whisky. Constantly reducing his stock of whisky as well! The only man that has gotten a whisky opera as a gift! But he is allergic to whisky. His tongue turns into a hockey puck.
MacCalle says: The Guru. Grew up in the north of Sweden with moonshining and amongst punk rock, which has resulted in an irrational and disturbed dedication to the wrong soccer club. Hung his skeleton on his earlobe instead of in the closet. Knows everything already but wants to learn more anyway. Sometimes have memory lapses and his walking gets waggling after wet adventures in the archipelago. History, the past, the present, the future...everything is woven together perfectly with whisky in focus.
