Well I finally decide to start fabricating a pair of skirts for my Buick. I have been searching for a pair for a long time but no luck so far. I took some pics during the work and here they are.

First I made a paper pattern on the shape I want.

Then I made a 1/2" plywood pattern from the paper and mark the 1.25 mm. sheet metal 1/2" bigger on the top and 1" bigger on the bottom.

Here’s the sheet metal cut and ready to form.

I clamp the metal to the plywood and start hammering to 90 degrees.

Here is full 90 degrees.

Then I loosen the clamps and start to roll the top completely over.

I did not have a metal crimper, so I opened my vise about a 1/8" and used a chisel to put a crimp about every 1/8" or so to get the curve of the skirts to follow the fender shape.

Here it is lying on a spare fender I got.

This is the result. Not so bad if I may say so. Just some painting left.
