LSN Version 3-04. Tips by scallywag:
1. Realise that you are in for a hard fight, so play cautiously.
2. Use buzzers to scout the enemy but don't fly right at them -
they'll just get shot down. Peek in and out of windows or around corners.
3. AIs are death on tracks for spawn but hunters and XTs are comparitively
easy pickings. Plan to take them out first (use your splatters for this
if poss).
4. Keep your queen(s) unhurt as long as possible, she will probably
need all her health when you eventually tackle the AIs.
5. You'll make it a lot harder for your opponent if you take out
his scanner, but don't sacrifice more than 3 or 4 unrecycleable FPs to
do it.
6. Goo is good. Use goo to pin down enemy AIs while you chew up
their support units. It's worth taking at least 2 goo spitters in a 20
pt deployment. If you think that goo spitters are useless then you aren't
a good enough spawn player - practice with them in friendlies until you
see the light.
7. If at all possible divide and conqueror - try and divide the
enemy force with goo and use all your spawn against one part. Eat and
lay then take on the other part. If the machina player does a split deployment
you are laughing. Plaster goo between the groups and kill them one at
a time.
8. Ways to take out AIs:
8.1. Saute in goo, serve with spikers.
8.2. Queen pops out from around a corner (don't leave her
in the open on the approach, the AI will shoot her to shreds) and eats
it.
8.3. Weaken it as much as possible with splatters, goo,
and spikers then hit it with 4 or 5 drones and any spare buzzers. Plan
to recycle the drones afterward.
Try not to take on more than one AI at a time, if you have to then approach
from an angle so that one AI blocks the LoS of the other.
9. Be aware that you are much much more mobile, use this to pick
the location for the fights in places that are favourable to you (where
you can approach without getting shot to @#%$).
10. Missile tanks aren't a great threat as long you stay mobile.
11. Your goo spitters are your most important units - look after
them. Fire indirect, have buzzers distract op fires, guard them from roving
hunters, meatshield them. Don't just park them in the open and let them
get shot.
12. Deploy a balenced force, e.g. 20FP=1Q, 6Dr,4Spi,2Buzz,2GS,2Spl
(varies according to map of course).
